SEER2

SEER2 stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2. It is a standardized efficiency rating for certain cooling equipment under updated test conditions. When comparing suitable equipment, a higher SEER2 value generally indicates more efficient cooling under that test.

What the rating does not tell you

SEER2 is not a promise of a particular utility bill. Actual energy use depends on weather, thermostat settings, installation, maintenance, ductwork, and the home’s insulation and air leakage. Capacity and correct installation matter alongside the rating when selecting a replacement system.
